In a bid to strengthen their relations, Ghana and Japan have reaffirmed their commitment to human resource development for mutual benefit. Apexnewsgh reports
This reaffirmation was made during a brief ceremony for the signing of Exchange of Notes for the “Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship” on June 4, 2024, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
The ceremony saw the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, sign on behalf of the Government of Ghana, while the Ambassador of Japan to Ghana, Mr. Mochizuki Hisanobu, signed for Japan.
Ghana’s Deputy Minister expressed appreciation to the Government of Japan for its continued support in enhancing Ghana’s human resource capacity. He emphasized the importance of the knowledge-sharing opportunity in equipping Ghanaian nationals with additional skills to contribute to the country’s development.
Ambassador Mochizuki Hisanobu reiterated Japan’s commitment to contributing to Ghana’s human resource capacity development. He noted that the project, which began in 2012, aims to offer opportunities to highly capable young Ghanaian Government officials to pursue graduate studies in various fields, accelerating Ghana’s social and economic development.
The project has already benefited approximately 117 students this year, demonstrating Japan’s ongoing commitment to supporting Ghana’s development and strengthening relations between the two nations.
This partnership highlights the importance of human resource development in driving social and economic growth, and the potential for international collaborations to achieve this goal. As Ghana and Japan continue to strengthen their relations, it is clear that the benefits of this partnership will extend far beyond the individual beneficiaries, contributing to the development of both nations.
