Linda Akweley Ocloo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate, has set a new record by completing her vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee in under 10 minutes. Apexnewsgh reports
This feat is all the more impressive considering that earlier in the day, Defence Minister-nominee Dr. Edward Omane Boamah faced a grueling five-hour questioning session.¹
Ocloo’s brief vetting was a stark contrast to the lengthy questioning other nominees have faced. Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin attributed her swift vetting to her competence, which was evident in the strong delegation that accompanied her. Committee Chairman Bernard Ahiafor also acknowledged her guests before formally discharging her.
As the Shai-Osudoku Member of Parliament (MP), Ocloo is expected to focus on urban development, youth empowerment, and enhancing public services in the Greater Accra Region if approved. Her historic vetting is a testament to her readiness to take on the challenges of her new role.
