In a unanimous decision, Parliament has approved Haruna Iddrisu as the Minister of Education, Governs Kwame Agbodza as the Minister of Roads and Highways, and Eric Opoku as the Minister of Food and Agriculture. Apexnewsgh reports
This approval follows a debate on the report of the Appointments Committee, which vetted the three ministers-designate on Monday, January 20, 2025.
The approval process was briefly delayed when Minority Leader Afenyo-Markin suggested suspending the proceedings due to the inadequate number of MPs present. However, he later withdrew his suggestion, and the House proceeded with the approval.
Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako announced the approval after a unanimous ‘AYES’ from MPs on both minority and majority caucuses. The approval of these ministers is a significant step in President Mahama’s administration, as they will play crucial roles in shaping the country’s education, infrastructure, and agriculture sectors.
In addition to these approvals, Parliament also approved Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister of Finance, Dr. Dominic Ayine as Minister of Justice and Attorney General, and John Jinapor as Minister of Energy.
