The newly appointed Ministers include Ahmed Ibrahim, now leading the Ministry for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs; Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, taking charge of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry; Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who will spearhead the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts; Emelia Arthur, at the helm of Fisheries and Aquaculture; and George Opare-Addo, tasked with the vital role of Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment.
During the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama addressed the Ministers directly, emphasizing the importance of their roles in fulfilling the aspirations of Ghanaians. “All eyes will be on you, and I heavily believe that you will rise to the occasion,” he stated, instilling confidence and support as they embarked on their new responsibilities.
With this latest swearing-in, the total number of Ministers appointed by President Mahama since the beginning of the year has reached eleven, following the earlier swearing-in of six Ministers on January 22, 2025.
In related developments, Parliament has also approved Muntaka Mubarak as the Minister-designate for Interior, who is set to be inaugurated shortly by the President. Additionally, the House granted approval for the regional Ministers-designate for the Northern, Oti, Volta, and Eastern regions, further solidifying the government’s commitment to effective leadership across the country.
