Bolga East Agenda 111: Contractor to hand over project keys end of 2023

The Contractors handling the Agenda 111 project at the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region C&H Logistics and Askpar Limited have confirmed they will be handing over the hospital project keys to the District Chief Executive (DCE) by the end of the year 2023.   Last year in August, the Bolga East Agenda 111 was in the news following the outcome of the President’s visit to the site. As part of President Akufo-Addo’s itinerary for his one-day tour to the Upper East Region, he visits Katanga a community in the Bolgatanga East District just after commissioning the Tono water expansion project in Navrongo. But sadly, it appears President Akufo-Addo’s mood automatically changed immediately after he arrived at the site scene and saw what looks like foundation-level work already done by the contractors in charge. The durbar which was already organized for the visit was brought to a standstill. However, 7 months after that controversial scene, the ApexnewsGhana team visited the site with the Bolga East District Chief Executive David Amoah to witness current happenings at the site. Our visit shows that work is seriously going on and there has been massive progress at the construction site. Engaging the contractors C&H Logistics and Askpar Limited, they were confident that the project will be completed by the close of the year 2023. “ We are working very hard to see if we can hand over this project by the end of the year, some parts will be used before September-October some parts will be used as we work to finish the remaining external works like the road and drains. So, maximum at the end of the year everything here should be set. The contractor told Apexnewsgh.com. Mr. David Amoah, the Bolgatanga East District Chief Executive who appeared very excited with the progress of work done by the contractors said: “If this project is completed in good time for us, I think it will change lives. This project will contribute to alleviating poverty. Because when people are strong and healthy they can do work to feed and it will also contribute to employment at the place. And once this emolument is completed, a lot of people will come here with investment opportunities and that will create employment for the people especially the youth in the area and that is why we are excited about this project”. Meanwhile, In the Upper East Region, 8 districts are beneficiaries of the ongoing government initiative Agenda 111 They are Binduri, Bolga East, Nabdam, Bawku west, Garu, Kassena-Nankana, Builsa south and the Tempane Districts. These health facilities, after their completion, would play a major role in health care delivery in the region.
