As the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bawumia pledged to prioritize agriculture, ensuring farmers receive the necessary support to thrive.
During his four-day campaign tour to the Upper East Region, Dr. Bawumia outlined his vision for a transformed agricultural sector.
He promised to establish District Agricultural Mechanization centers, providing affordable equipment to farmers and increasing production. Drawing inspiration from countries like Brazil and China, he aimed to adopt innovative technologies to boost crop yields.
Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the need to shift away from chemical fertilizers, which harm the soil, and instead embrace lime as a cheaper and more sustainable alternative.
He further vowed to achieve 100% rural electrification and ensure every community has access to telephone connectivity, paving the way for a digital Ghana.
Accompanied by a delegation of ministers, party executives, and members of parliament, Dr. Bawumia appealed to the people to vote for him and the parliamentary candidate, Mr. Thomas Kofi Alonsi, to implement their comprehensive plans for the country. Mr. Alonsi echoed the Vice President’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of continuity in government projects and social interventions.
