Dr. Bin Salih, highlighted the active role of Upper East REGSEC in comparison to other REGSECs across the country due to the ongoing Bawku conflict.

To address the issue, Dr. Bin Salih and REGSEC held a meeting with commanders from various security agencies, promoting collaboration and coordination.

Following an unfortunate clash among the security personnel, REGSEC led by the Regional Minister felt the need to engage further with the officers on the ground. An engagement session was held at Bawku Secondary School, with all junior officers in attendance.

During the meeting, Dr. Bin Salih stressed the importance of unity among the security personnel, reminding them of their common goal of protecting lives and property. He urged them not to view themselves as superior based on their uniforms and advised them to work together in the line of duty.

Despite acknowledging the security efforts in the region, the Minister expressed concern that the misunderstanding leading to the clash had overshadowed the officers’ commendable work, such as intercepting smuggled goods like cocoa beans.

The Regional Police Commander, as well as the Military and Custom Commanders, were given the opportunity to share words of advice with their followers during the engagement.

“I consider the incident that happened days ago as misunderstanding that was born out of emotions that could not be properly managed and I would like to admonished that no matter what happens to us as men in the uniform in our areas of operation, one thing you should not forget is that, we are working towards a common goal by using different approaches and methods”. One of the commanders said.
